How to Say the Colors in French

In this video tutorial I will teach you how to say and pronounce the different colors of the rainbow in the French language. Actually, it’s probably much easier than you expect as many of the words are very similar to English. Please keep in mind that a caller is actually an adjective and in French there are two forms for each adjective – a masculine and feminine form. In this video I am teaching you the French colors and the masculine form. To write them in the feminine form all you have to do is add an easy at the end of each word.

Here are the colors:

red = rouge
orange = orange
green = vert
blue = bleu
yellow = jaune
black = noir
white = blanc
pink = rose

How To Say Goodbye In French

When learning a new language for the first time one of the key things that you must learn is how to say goodbye. In French, just like English, there are many different ways of saying goodbye. The first and most formal way is to say aurevoir. This literally means until I see you again or until the next seing. Please note that the “re” isn’t exactly silent but it’s not said very strongly. Another way to say goodbye is salut. This is much less formal than aurevoir and should only be used with people your own age, peers or people younger than yourself. You can also say see you soon in French. To say this you say a bientot. Please note that the T at the end of bientot is not pronounced. Finally, one other way to say goodbye is a la prochaine. This literally means see you next time as prochaine means next.

How To Say I Miss You In French

As a beginner student learning French one of the first phrases you’ll want to learn is how to say I miss you. Of all the sentences you can study this is one of the most useful for your new French Friends! To say I miss you you say: Tu me manques. Let’s break it down. Tu is you in the familiar form. Me is part of what’s called a reflexive verb in French and it really means to me. Manques means to miss. In our example sentence we learn, Tu sais quoi, mon ami – which means, you know my friend? Tu me manques beaucoup aujourd’hui. I miss you a lot today.

How To Count To Ten In French

In this lesson I’m going to teach you how to count to ten in French. For this lesson we’ll keep it simple and do 1-10 and in other beginners french vocabulary lessons we can count even higher! To say one you say Un.
To say two you say Deux. Notice the x is not pronounced and you just make an ugh sound. To say three you say Trois. The R is a bit tricky. You need to vibrate your tongue in the back of your throat. Four is Quatre. Again, watch R. Five is Cinq. Six is Six, just like English but watch that x at the end. Seven is Sept, pronounced Set. Eight is Huit, pronounced as it’s written but no strong English H. Nine is Neuf.
Ten is Dix. Again, watch the X.

How To Say I Love You In French

In this tutorial I’ll teach you how to say I love you in French. This sentence is one of the first thing that everybody wants to know when learning French so I thought I’d teach you right away! I’ll also teach a few more fun phrases that you can use! To say I love you in French you say, Je t’aime. The verb aimer means to like or love. So, if you say Je t’aime bien that means I like you. This is more casual. Je t’aime mon amour means I love you for a woman to a man. Mon amour means my love. Je t’aime ma cherie means I love you my dear, said by a man to a woman. To say I will always love you, say Je t’aimerai pour toujours. To say I love you a lot say, Je t’aime beacoup. To say I love you a little say Je t’aime un peu. To say do you love me say Est-ce que tu m’aimes? To say, Of course I love you say, Oui, Biensur! Je t’aime!

French Personal Pronouns

In this lesson you’ll learn the personal pronouns in French. They are a bit trickier than in English because the French language always distinguishes between singular and plural for you. To say I in French you say Je. To say that sound put your teeth together and force the air out through your teeth. To say You say Tu. This is for friends, people your own age or younger. If you meet somebody older than you you should never use the word Tu with them. To say He say Il. To say Her say Elle. To say one say On. Note that On is often used for We. To say We say Nous. Note it’s pronounced like “New” in English. To say You for somebody older than you or a stranger say Vous. Vous is also you plural. So, if you’re talking to a group of people say Vous. To say they for a group of men say Ils. Note the S is silent. To say they for a group of women say Elles. Again, note the S is silent.

How To Say What Is Your Name In French

In this lesson you’ll learn how to say “What is your name?” and “My name is” in French. As always with French it’s very important to distinguish the formal way of saying things and the way you say them to a friend or somebody who’s your age or younger than you. The formal way of asking somebody their name in French is, “Comment vous-appelez vous?” Vous means you for somebody who you don’t know. If you’re asking a friend or somebody your age or younger you ask, “Comment tu t’appelles?” It’s important that you get the “u” sound right on the “tu” or you as it’s very different from English. It’s okay if you can’t get it perfectly the first time. Keep trying! To say, “My name is” in French you say, “Je m’appelle + your name. So, I’d say “Je m’appelle David”. Je in French means I.

How To Say Hello in French

Here you’ll learn how to say hello in French. It’s actually much easier than you think. One critical thing to understand is that in French there are two different ways for how to speak to strangers and people older than you and people your own age or younger. It’s very important to get this part right in France! To say hello or good morning in french you say, “Bonjour.” To ask a stranger or somebody older than you, “How are you?” you ask, “Bonjour, Allez-vous bien?” or “Bonjour, Comment allez-vous?” For somebody your own age or younger you say, “Salut” for “hi” then to ask “How are you?” you say, “Ca va bien?”. To answer you say, “Oui, Ca va tres bien, Merci. In the video here you can watch and repeat a few times until you feel comfortable with these French phrases.
